The Fundamentals of Safety in Design

On this page
Achieving safe outcomes in engineering, design and project management through the application of thorough planning, hazard identification and analysis and legal adherence.

Engineers create designs to fulfil a need. An aspect of that need is always to ensure that the people who will interact with the design can do so safely. Safety in Design is exactly that: intentionally taking action throughout the design process to make the design safe for all foreseeable users ad their activities.

The scope of this webinar is an introduction to the basics of Safety in Design, setting-up for success in terms of understanding what Safety in Design is and what it is trying to achieve.

This webinar provides the fundamentals of safety in design, which in general, are not covered in undergraduate engineering at universities. It is relevant to all engineers of all disciplines.

The aim of the webinar is to cover the basics of Safety in Design: what it is, why it is important and what it means for engineering and design professionals.
