Managing project schedules is a core capability requirement of a project engineer.
This online short course will advance your career by teaching you how to design, manage, and report on project schedules for construction works. You’ll gain vital new skills to monitor and improve your projects’ schedule, resourcing and time requirements.
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to analyse a project schedule to determine the critical path, develop a scope of works in a logical structure, and assess design packages to allocate resources without disrupting other projects. And you’ll understand the skills you need to further develop to prepare for your micro-credential submission.
- Analyse the project schedule to determine which tasks have float and which are on the critical path, and the sequence of works to build the scope
- Develop a scope of works in a logical work breakdown structure to be able to plan lower-level activities which will require monitoring
- Assess design packages between multiple projects and sub-projects, and track progress.
- Introduction to projects
- Uncertainty, risk and decision making
- Communication
- Setting the project baseline
- Performance feedback cycle
- Baseline change management.
The learning component is delivered through EngLearn, our digital learning platform.
You'll learn using a mix of practical case studies, quizzes and reading, audio and video materials. You'll also apply your knowledge in practice with a variety of assessment tasks.
It will take approximately eight hours to complete. As it is self-paced, you can start anytime and save your progress as you finish each module.
Once you register for the micro-credential, you have 90 days to complete it.
