This online course helps you learn the communication skills required of an engineer, and understand how to develop these skills to obtain the Communication micro-credential.
You’ll learn to communicate in a variety of different ways when speaking and writing to a diverse range of stakeholders.
You’ll learn how to use a range of techniques, including:
- listening, reading and comprehension
- understanding your audience, including their knowledge, expectations, requirements and interests
- using the right terminology and language
- developing clear instructions for complex topics
- building trust and respect
After completing this course, you’ll be able to identify and apply the appropriate techniques to effectively communicate with your stakeholders. And you’ll understand the skills you need to further develop to prepare for your Communication micro-credential submission.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:

This learning component is delivered through an online short course, consisting of:

- live classroom-style workshop
Duration
- The self-paced learning will take approximately four hours to complete.
- The workshop will take four hours.
Once you register for the micro-credential, you have 90 days to complete the learning component.
