Overview

Managing construction tenders and bids is a crucial part of a site engineer's work. ​

That’s why we’ve curated this learning journey to get you up-to-speed on the tender and bid process. ​

This series of short courses will take you from the basics, through to the more advanced skills you’ll need to perform as a site engineer, including:

  • Knowing the practical process and requirements of tender submission
  • Understanding how to prepare, evaluate and co-ordinate tenders and bids
  • Developing technical writing skills to present clear, concise tender information
  • Consolidating your ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of engineering stakeholders

How does it work?

This learning journey is designed to build on your tenders and bids management skills as you progress through it. Once completed, you'll have the opportunity to apply for a Micro-credential to showcase your newly developed capabilities.

1. Register for each course

To complete the learning journey, you must register for each course separately.

You can lock in your learning by registering for all five courses upfront, or register for each course as you go.

2. Complete the learning

This includes a mix of self-paced and live-online learning.

There is no set time frame to complete this journey, however we recommend you complete the self-paced courses one-week before the first live-facilitated course on 29 October.

3. Enrol in the Micro-credentials

Once you have complete all the short courses and started to incorporate your newly developed skills in your practice, you are ready to earn recognition through two Micro-credentials.

Make sure you enrol in the 'Assessment Pathway' on the micro-credential pages.

Developing great communication skills to allow you to communicate with estimators, and present tender information effectively. This course will help you improve your technical writing skills so you can deliver clear and concise reports, tenders, specifications, proposals and other valuable documents.​

Delivery: Assessment Pathway | Online | Self-paced | 6 - 9 hours preparation time

Prove that you have the knowledge and skills to prepare, evaluate, and coordinate construction bids and tenders, by gaining the Manage Construction Tenders and Bids micro-credential via the assessment pathway.​

Delivery: Assessment Pathway | Online | Self-paced | 6 - 9 hours preparation time

Further showcase your ability to communicate through a micro-credential to assess the capabilities you already have. This will be especially useful to build communication skills in order to progress to Project Engineer roles and support other aspects of your work as a site engineer. ​
