Learn how to deliver successful engineering projects by gaining the essential project management skills.

This course focuses on the fundamentals of project management. It draws on the Project Management Institute’s 'Project Management Body of Knowledge' (PMBOK® Guide)*. 

You'll learn about: 

  • the project lifecycle 
  • project management methodologies 
  • documentation 
  • key roles 
  • risk management 
  • project quality 
  • procurement 
  • stakeholders 
  • closing projects. 

Using a real project as a case study, you will: 

  • be able to contribute ideas, collaborate on concepts and discuss solutions, 
  • learn practical tools and tips to use in the workplace, and 
  • have access to a reference guide and documentation templates to use on future projects. 

By the end of the course, you'll have gained the skills to improve time, cost and scope management. You'll also have practiced these new skills so you can confidently transfer them to real life scenarios. 

This course is delivered through a mix of self-paced and live online learning. You must complete a number of self-paced learning modules before and after attending each workshop.

How you’ll learn

This course comprises of 8 - 10 hours of self-paced online learning via the EngLearn LMS and 2 x 1.5 hour live online workshops.

You must complete a certain amount of the self-paced learning modules before and after attending each workshop. Your access will expire 90 days after the start date.

An example of the course schedule is:

Self-paced learning modules 1 - 4: Complete by 3 October 

Live Workshop 1: 3 October, 10:30am – 12pm AEDT

Self-paced learning modules 5 - 10: Complete by 31 October

Live Workshop 2: 31 October, 10:30am – 12pm AEDT

As it is self-paced, you can start anytime and save your progress as you finish each module.
